About Us
Who We Are:
Based in Perth , Western Australia , SPANK FX Film Lighting has been carefully put together over years in order to provide services to the film and television industries. We are specially placed to provide short-term labour and gear hire, at a moments notice, to a wide variety of businesses. These include TV Commercial Production Houses, TV station resources and production departments, outside Broadcasts, studio shoots and location shoots.

 

Hiring Us:
Primarily Spank Gaffers (Lighting engineers) can drive our Transit Van, filled to the brim with specialised Film Lighting Gear, to your location. One of our Gaffers will operate this gear for you in order to achieve your goal. You also have the choice of hiring a Best Boy (lighting assistant).

 

What We've Done:
SPANK FX and it's crew have worked with Sauce Films, ZZ Productions, WA Ballet, ABC TV, Channel 9, Channel 7, Soul Films, Split Screen, Pretty Pictures, White Knuckle, Mad Angel, FTI, Plaza Films and many more.

 

Head of Production Services:
As head of SPANK FX Drew Merefield brings with him years of experience making TV commercials, Feature Films, Rock Clips, mini series, and Drama. His life's work has been dedicated to technical services in the entertainment industry.

Perth has become his base and not before time.

Some of the productions he has worked on include: ‘SUPERMAN RETURNS', ‘MATRIX RELOADED' & 'MATRIX REVOLUTIONS' , ‘QUEEN OF THE DAMNED', ‘THE MOSCOW CIRCUS', ‘THE PET SHOW', ‘CAN WE HELP', ‘U2's LOVE TOUR', ‘INXS', ‘ PHIL COLLINS' and many more.
